📋1. Information We Collect
Account Users (registered):
- Username and email address provided during registration
- Profile avatar selection
- Gameplay statistics: scores, XP, levels, streaks, accuracy, response times
- Achievements earned and game modes played
- Account creation date and last login date
Guest Users (no account):
- All data is stored locally on your device only (browser localStorage)
- No personal information is transmitted to our servers
We do not collect your device location, contacts, camera, microphone, or any sensitive personal information.

- Displaying your progress, XP, level, and achievements inside the app
- Showing your scores on daily, weekly, and all-time leaderboards
- Calculating and maintaining your daily login streak
- Improving app performance based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
🔒3. Data Storage & Security
Registered user data is stored securely on Google Firebase / Firestore, hosted on Google Cloud with industry-standard security practices.
- All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- Firestore security rules ensure users can only read/write their own data
- Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication — we never store plain-text passwords
- Guest user data lives solely in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device

CogniQ uses the following third-party services. By using CogniQ, you agree to their respective privacy policies:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — manages sign-in and account security
- Cloud Firestore (Google) — stores user profiles and leaderboard data
- Google Fonts — loads typography assets (no personal data shared)

📢5. Advertising
Free users may see advertisements via Google AdMob. These ads may use your device's advertising ID to serve relevant ads.
- You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings
- Premium users (one-time purchase) see zero ads
- We do not share your gameplay data with advertisers
👶6. Children's Privacy
CogniQ is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@cogniq.app and we will delete that data promptly.
✋7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
- Access: View all your data in the Stats and Profile screens
- Correction: Update your username and avatar anytime in Edit Profile
- Deletion: Permanently delete your account via Settings → Delete Account
- Portability: Request a copy of your data by emailing support@cogniq.app
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All data will be erased from our servers within 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users via an in-app notification.
Continued use of CogniQ after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
